Standing Among Giants
Mr. Joseph Doumet visit Germany and we have a meeting with Mr. Manferd Deurr and Mr. Werner Jungbluth and Mrs. Therese Jungbluth. Then the four of us had a business lunch at a fancy restaurant. In the evening of the same day, the Jungbluths with their daughter Indra Jungbluth and son-in-law Mario Breiderhoff celebrated my successful day.Standing Among Giants

With all the great time I had in Germany comes the rigidity of the serious moments. I have never forgot my mission in Germany. I was always reminded by the responsibility that was waiting for me at SOMP. Since I was in Bocholt, I always thought what I might need to learn that I will be using at SOMP. The answer was clear that there is no limit to learning and I had always to open my mind to new methods and technologies. But I had a priority to earn what I cannot have in Lebanon.
The people at the companies that I had my trainings at were so helpful. I had the chance to see things from the worker and manager’s views. Germany got the cutting edge in machine manufacturing and it is much easier to get introduced to new technologies, or even old and efficient ones, because of the abundance in metal and machine works companies. Worldwide, Germany is known to be the top in quality and is always pursued even with its high cost.
I always want that my country Lebanon to have the best in technology and to be supreme in all economic fields. It is a dream to me to add something to this lovely country as an appreciation and loyalty. Maybe I am still young and think like someone who is being poetic, but not me. If everyone in Lebanon added even just a little, then it will make a big difference. I thank God that many Lebanese have made a lot to their country and need no further inspiration. In fact they have inspired me and I accept to be no less generous than they are. I love the most the "Zehlawiyeh" who are the people from my beautiful city Zahle.
I had the great chance to be one of the SOMP family and I am always preparing to do my best to add to this already highly established company. I still have the ability to search for what is new and to be curious about how things are done the best so that my work will be perfect. I am not planning to let go of this enthusiasm. I have seen old men learning computer or even having university courses, so it is a shame for me to have any less energy.
On the 26th of November, 2006, my boss Mr. Joseph Doumet came to Germany to check up with my training. He never stopped supporting me all the time. Now he came for a face-to-face support and guidance. His long experience with the most challenging situation has made him a very valuable source of information and advice for me and many others. It was a very pleasant visit full of encouragement and specially because I haven’t seen and talked to a Lebanese for a long time. Mr. Doumet was accompanied with Mr. Duerr, the man who was my godfather in Germany. After the meeting, we went off to a nearby restaurant with Mr. and Mrs. Jungbluth. It was a pleasant day. Mrs. Jungbluth took a picture of me among the giants: Mr. Doumet, a very successful man who operated many factories in Lebanon among which is the Lebanese Cemetery, Lebanese Chemicals, and SOMP, Mr. Duerr, one of the best experienced and intelligent advisors who worked in many countries among which is Lebanon, and Mr. Jungbluth, the president of a well established gearbox producing companies in Germany that produces products for the beat leading companies in the world such as General Electric and Siemens.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Doumet expressed his satisfaction with my work. That was a best certificate that I can get. In the afternoon, my family in Germany,Mr. and Mrs. Jungbluth with their daughter Indra and her husband Mario and their son Noah, gathered in the house and invited me to celebrate this successful day of my life. This is another picture that marked an important station in my life. Cheers to all the great people who God have allowed me to know.
